The new Jewish cemetery in Olkusz was established around 1900. During the occupation during World War II, it was devastated by the Germans, who used some of the tombstones for construction purposes. After the war, the process of devastating the abandoned cemetery continued. In the fall of 2010, cleaning works started.
Currently, on an area of approximately 1 ha, almost 200 tombstones have been preserved, many of which are seriously damaged. Most of the matzevot are not in their original places. The oldest preserved tombstones come from the beginning of the 20th century. On the eastern side, there are remains of the fence and the ruins of the pre-funeral home.
There is no information about the existence of mass graves in the necropolis.
